You need to pay attention to how well you are performing the movements week by week. If you feel like you are executing the movements well and can handle more weight without compromising good form, it’s time to add weight. If you add weight and find that your form is suffering, then you should go back down in weight and focus on form again. Over time, with this approach, your strength and muscle mass will grow without putting you at risk of injury.
-
You work out more of your stabilizing muscles, lifting kettlebells over dumbbells due to their uneven weight distribution. The unequal weight distribution makes the kettlebell suitable for drills like strict presses and squats.
-
Training with just kettlebells can help you get stronger and build muscle as their design promotes instability, which will engage more muscle fibers during lifts. As you perform the reps, the weight distribution of the kettlebell will shift, increasing the amount of time the muscle is under tension promoting muscle growth.
